SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for developing, retaining and increasing girl and adult membership in assigned areas; identify, recruit, train and provides direction, supervision and ongoing support to administrative volunteers enabling them to extend Girl Scouting in the community; cultivates and maintains positive community relations through presentations, collaborative efforts and networking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plans and implements a comprehensive plan for girl and adult membership growth by researching market data, membership trends and other pertinent information relevant to designated areas.
2. Recruits, selects, appoints and supervises adult volunteers in assigned areas.
3. Plans, designs and implements innovative strategies to ensure the effective delivery of membership services; determines the need for additional unit support by assessing community needs.
4. Provides ongoing support, supervision and direction to administrative volunteers in assigned areas by interpreting Girl Scouts of the USA and council policies, standards, and procedures and by ensuring the availability of support services to enable volunteers to carry out the responsibilities of their positions effectively.
5. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
6. Cultivates local business and community organizations to identify fundraising opportunities, research community resources and needs and implement local service projects.
7. Identifies the needs for and manages the conflict resolution process to ensure fairness and to expedite resolution of concerns.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience.
· Knowledge of Girl Scout program preferred.
· Experience in Girl Scout principles, standards, guidelines, and program.
· Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Demonstrates a commitment and ability to interact with diverse populations.
· Demonstrates ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
· Subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member.
· Demonstrates ability to handle sensitive information; ability to manage conflict resolution.
· Some travel required. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
· Ability to give and receive information by telephone and in person.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Successfully passes criminal background check and search of central registry.

Assistant
The ACCESS College Foundation is in search of a pro-active,detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to join its fast-paced
Development Department. The position is part-time and will be
responsible for data entry and donor database maintenance, donor and
event correspondence, assistance with the coordination of special events
and will assist with various fundraising activities as required. This
is a part-time, hourly position. The regular schedule for this position
is 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., three days per week. There will be times that
after hours and weekend work will be required.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and
Excel, is required. A minimum of 1-3 years of administrative experience
is preferred. The candidate must also possess excellent written/oral
communication skills and have good attention to detail. The
individual must be highly organized and have the ability to work well independently
and with a team.

Special Events & Marketing Intern at Seton Youth Shelters
Goal:
Provide support for communications, events and marketing related projects.
Duties: Assist with marketing and public relations needs related to Seton Youth Shelters’ special events, press releases, direct mail, newsletters, etc. Provide support to these activities in the form of event operations, press kit compilation, administrative support, etc.
Qualifications:
· General office experience
· Proficiency with computer and basic office equipment
· Excellent phone skills
· Organized work habit
· Classroom and/or work experience in marketing and public relations preferred
Time Required:
An intern can fill this position by working shifts that fit their schedule, though the minimum request involves 4 hours per week with a semester-long commitment. Shifts are during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9-5 with final schedule arranged between intern and Director of Special Events & Marketing. Students are responsible for securing credit from their specific school/department.
Training:
Training will include an overview of the two shelters (building tour, etc.) and specific training with the Director of Special Events & Marketing. Student will also work indirectly with other departments throughout the organization.
