The Greater
Virginia Peninsula Continuum of Care Council’s annual
membership dues are $20. The
membership year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the
following year. The dues are used to defray costs
associated with operating a network of agencies such as
maintaining the web page, mailings, materials and the like.
Membership benefits are the following:
- Voting rights; each member
(agency, individual, organization, business, government
units/agencies) has one vote regardless of the number of
persons attending the meetings
- Participation, without
charge, in all GVPCCC sponsored workshops, conventions
and other educational opportunities
- Opportunities to
collaborate with other members in identifying unmet
needs and developing and conducting programs which
benefit the Greater Virginia Peninsula community
- Opportunities to
participate in creating large scale partnerships between
multiple agencies for the purpose of writing for grants
to national foundations and for federal and state grants
to fund local programs
- The right to develop a
project and have it considered for HUD (Housing and
Urban Development) funding through the Super NOVA
(Notice of Funding Availability) process
- The development of
professional relationships
- Greater awareness of
community needs, problems, accomplishments, new
programs, new funding opportunities
- Access to and use of the
GVPCCC web page and eblasts
- Listing of members,
together with relevant information, on the GVPCCC web
page
- Direct links to members’
web pages
- Opportunities for local,
state and national advocacy on issues that impact the
Greater Virginia Peninsula.
